Yuri Boyka
Scott Edward Adkins is an English actor, military fan, and he played the role of Russian prison fighter Yuri Boyka in the 2006 movie Undisputed II. In our next article, we will learn about Boyka's life story.
His upbringing and life
Scott Edward Adkins was born in Sutton Coldfield, a town located in Birmingham, England on June 17, 1976 into a family of butchers.
Boyka is of Spanish descent. At the age of ten, he developed a passion for martial arts, especially after visiting a local judo club with his father and older brother.
His interest in martial arts increased after being robbed at the age of thirteen, as he started practicing taekwondo, and was able to obtain a black belt at the age of nineteen.
As soon as he reached the age of 16, Scott began kickboxing with Anthony Jones, eventually becoming a kickboxing instructor for the Professional Karate Association (PKA).
Scott Adkins has experience in many disciplines such as Ninjutsu, Karate, Wushu, Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Capoeira, and acrobatic gymnastics.
Boyka was raised on the shoulder of his parents, John and Janet (Sanders) Adkins. His family was middle-class philanthropists. He then attended Bishop Vesey's grammar school in Sutton Coldfield.

The beginning of his career
His first opportunity to work in film came when he was offered a role in a Hong Kong martial arts film called Dei Seung Chui Keung (2001), also known as Extreme Challenge.
It was discovered by the president of the Hong Kong Stonemen Association, director Wei Tong and Hong Kong film expert Luqan.
He got the chance to work with some of Hong Kong cinema's top film directors including Wu Bing Yuen, Corey Yuen, Sammo Hong Kam Po and the legendary Jackie Chan.
Actor Boyka started out with some notable guest roles, landing a guest role in BBC Doctors (2000), filmed at Birmingham Pebble Mill.
He appeared in a handful of episodes in BBC Eastenders (1985) and City Central (1998), as well as playing a leading role in the comedy-drama Sky One Mile High (2003) and then had a regular role in Holby City (1999).

Boyka has starred in many feature films such as Talbot in Special Forces (2003) as well as Yuri Boyka in The Unsputed II: Last Man Standing (2006).
Scott has guest-starred in big-budget films such as 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum and 2009's The Tournament, and played the main antagonist of Jean-Claude Van Damme in 2008's Sony Pictures The Shepherd: Border Patrol.
He shared the role of Weapon XI with Ryan Reynolds in the 2009 remake of X-Men: Wolverine. Adkins also appeared as King Amphitryon in The Legend of Hercules.
In 2012, he starred in Métal Hurlant Chronicles, a French-Belgian sci-fi TV show based on the French comic books Metal Hurlant. Where he had to appear in two episodes.
