Charles Oliveira da Silva (Portuguese: Charles Oliveira da Silva; born October 17, 1989) is a Brazilian mixed martial artist, former UFC lightweight champion and level III Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner. Oliveira began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a young man and won several titles before switching to mixed martial arts in 2007. Oliveira currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight division, where he is a former UFC Lightweight Champion. Oliveira holds several UFC records, including the most won submission in UFC history with 16 submissions and winning by knockout of an opponent (serve or by KO) with 20 finishes.

As of May 14, 2023, Oliveira is ranked #1 in the UFC's lightweight category and #8 in the UFC's list of top bantamweight fighters.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Career Oliveira won his first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in 2003 as a white belt and the Sao Paulo State Junior Championship. In 2004 he won again the Sao Paulo Championship, in 2005 the Copa Nasu Jiu-Jitsu Championship and in 2006 he won a total of 16 medals. In 2007, he focused his career on MMA. In 2010, he obtained a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the leadership of Erickson Cardoso and Jorge "Macaco" Patino.
